This is a draft page. The plan is to document here the pubs that have been truly lost since 1984, those that are currently closed/under serious threat, and those we believe are likely to re-open.
Pubs Lost 1984 Onwards (Oxford branch area)
Bakers Arms, Albert Street, Jericho. Closed in 1991. Converted to two houses.
Bell, Old High Street, Headington. Closed 2000. Demolished and replaced by a house.
Blue Mile (Queens Arms), Cowley Road, Littlemore. Closed 2008. Converted to flats.
Brewery Gate, St Thomas Gate. Closed 2010. Demolished and replaced by flats.
Bricklayers Arms, Old Marston. Closed 2010. Now a house.
Cavalier, Northway. Closed 2008. Demolished and replaced by student accommodation.
Chequers, St Thomas St. Closed 2007. Converted to flats.
Cherwell, Water Eaton Rd. Closed 2007. Demolished and replaced by flats.
Cock & Camel, George St. Closed 2008. Became Jamie’s. That closed in 2019.
Cross Keys, Manor Rd, South Hinksey. Closed 1993. Now a house.
Crown, Lake St. Closed 1990. Now a house.
Dolly, Frewin Court. Closed 2019.
Duke of York, New Street. Closed 2008. Demolished 2014.
