Selection for the Guide is always hard and this year was no exception. There were a lot of pubs who only just missed out, and many more who might have been in contention but didn’t have sufficient beer scores. Some of the branch Chair’s favourite pubs didn’t make it – Oxford only has 24 places in the guide. Just because a pub isn’t in the Guide doesn’t mean its not a fabulous pub!

For the 2026 Guide Oxford branch reviewed the beer scores and then there was a member’s vote from the pubs with the best beers scores. The plan is to run a similar process in January for the next edition, hopefully with a new option for online voting.
